Autodesk Play
Play is a web-based authoring solution for real-time interactive 3D experiences.
After completing the Smithsonian X 3D web explorer, we started working on a generalized solution for building interactive, web-based 3D experiences. The result is Showspace, an authoring tool that lets you create complex interactive 3D scenes without writing code. Showspace is a cloud-based tool that runs in any web browser.
The project hit a nerve and gained a lot of interest. In 2015, Showspace was acquired by Autodesk, a multi-national design software company (AutoCAD, Maya, 3ds Max). It is now available as Project Play, integrated with the Photogrammetry and mesh-editing software Autodesk ReMake, or as a standalone cloud application.
